Division of Art & Cultural Education
The Division of Art & Cultural Education was established on the basis of the former Aesthetic Education Teaching and Research Office, which was incorporated into the School of Literature of Nankai University in 2000, offering public courses on aesthetics, literature and art education for the whole university, involving the research directions of cultural aesthetics, literature and art, music education, dance education, costume aesthetics, etc. Its cultural quality education reform experiment has lasted for more than ten years, and the level of teaching and research has made a substantial leap. In recent years, we have offered more than 40 courses in aesthetics and art education every semester, including one university-wide quality education core course and 8 university-wide excellent public courses. Every year, nearly 2,000 students benefit from these courses. The faculty also offer relevant theory courses for art majors in the School of Literature and specialized courses for dance majors. They guide the activities of student choirs, dance troupes, piano clubs, teachers’ choirs and other clubs on campus, and actively participate in art exhibitions and performances on and off campus, which enliven the construction of campus culture.
